The Department of Accounting at the University of Dar Es salaam Business School is ranked among the top Departments of Accounting in the Eastern and Southern Africa Region. We pride ourselves on our reputation for academic and teaching excellence. We offer a range of high quality undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Our reputation has been further enhanced through our research in the areas of Financial Reporting, Accountability and Governance, Taxation, Public Assets Management, Pension Funds Management, Auditing in the Public Sector, Auditor Liability in Emerging Economies, Accounting in Small and Medium Scale Businesses and Corporate Social Responsibility.
The department boasts of eighteen (18) qualified, competent and experienced academic staff.
Ten (10) out of the 18 academic staff are holders of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), two are professors

The current structure of the Department consists of a Head of the Department (HOD) who
is assisted by two coordinators: Coordinator for Academics (CAD) and Coordinator for Research
and Publications (CR&P). The Coordinator for Academics (CAD) is assisted by two coordinators.
These are the Assistant Coordinator - Academics (ACAD) and the Assistant Coordinator -Tourism Studies (ACTRS).
